The device has a base element (1) that is attached between a hand machine and a cleaning element that is driven by the hand machine and movable with respect to the base element. A roller (36) is rotatably fastened to the base element, and an article e.g. frame, to be cleaned is movably guided at the roller. The article is cleaned by the cleaning element that is movable opposite to the base element. A linear movement of the cleaning element against the base element is produced by the hand machine. The rotation element is rotatable by a rotation drive. The roller has a plastic coating.
