Automation device and method of its operation

The automation device has a control program for controlling or monitoring a technical process. The control program has a main program (30) and one or multiple called or scheduled subprograms. The control program has a normal operating subprogram (48) and a special operating subprogram (50). The main program has instruction (52) for a call of the normal operating subprogram or special operating subprogram depending on the status of the automation device. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for operating an automation device; and (2) a computer program for a data carrier for executing the automation device operating method.
