The present invention provides a load distribution system and a load distribution method that are capable of selecting an appropriate server in consideration of a load condition of a server and characteristic of a mobile node. Provided is a load distribution system 1 in a communication network that includes a mobile node 2, a plurality of home agent servers 90 that manage positional information of the mobile node 2, and an authentication server 4 that performs access authentication of the mobile node 2. The authentication server 4 includes a characteristic information database 6 where user characteristic of the mobile node 2 is stored and a load information database 7 where a load condition of each of home agent servers (3a to 3c) is stored, and the authentication server 4 selects a home agent server 90 that is allocated to the mobile node 2 based on the user characteristic of the mobile node 2 and the load condition of each of the home agent servers (3a to 3c) upon receiving an access authentication request of the mobile node 2. |
