<p>A method of applying a plurality of resinous dots to a web of fabric and extending above one surface of the fabric comprises the steps of maintaining a supply of the web of fabric, which is trained for linear movement in contact with the outer periphery of a cylindrical applicator screen rotating in the same direction as the web travels, maintaining a supply of thixotropic thermoplastic resinous composition, applying a doctoring force to the composition to force the composition through the openings in the screen and on to the fabric, separating the fabric and the screen and thereafter heating the composition to solidify it. The composition may comprise 1,0 part by weight of homopolymer of vinyl chloride having a particle size range of 0,05-1,0 micron, a predominant particle size range of 0,2-0,8 micron and a predetermined particle size of 0,25 micron and 0,4-1,0 part by weight of a plasticizer selected from the group consisting of di-(2-ethyl hexyl adipate) and di-octyl-sebacate. Another composition in which the homopolymer of vinyl chloride has a different particle size distribution is described.</p> |
