<p>PURPOSE: Air conditioner and method of operating the same are provided to effectively control the power consumption and provide a pleasant indoor environment in a power control mode. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises a plurality of units and a remote controller(RC). The remote controller monitors and controls the operation of the plurality of units, and controls the amount of power consumed by the units. The remote controller sets the priorities for the units corresponding to the change depending on the time of an indoor temperature and controls the operation ratio for the units by controlling the operation of the units according to the priorities. The remote controller sets the operation change cycle in which each operation state for the units changes and resets the priorities for the units when reaching the operation change cycle.</p> |
