The plant comprises an intermediate storage evacuating through a tip on a thick-walled trough-band (2), receiving the intermittently occurring metallurgical slag and arranged upstream to the dry cooling device. The intermediate storage consists of non-constituted water-cooled pan (1) tiltable on opposite sides. The pan is evacuatable on the side turned away the trough-band through a tip in a casting bed or a collection tub. The pan comprises a cool water channel that is connected at an inlet- and outlet flow guided through the tip axis of the pan.
