The vehicle has safety units moved to a configuration to allow starting of the vehicle, or to another configuration to prevent starting of the vehicle. A power case (4) provokes the stop of an engine (1) and/or the activation of an electromagnetic brake (5) when the safety units are in the latter configuration. A receiver receives a remote stop set point emitted by a remote transmitter. The receiver acts on electric switching units i.e. relays, according to the received set point for providing a signal to the power case corresponding to the latter configuration of the safety units. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling remote stop of a vehicle.
