A dispenser for dispensing a predetermined number of dosages of a medicine from a bulk supply of the medicine includes a storage compartment for receiving the bulk supply of the medicine therein. The storage container includes a discharge port. The dispenser also includes a counting compartment having means to receive at last one pill from storage compartment and dispense at least one dosage of medicine collecting compartment. The dispenser also includes a collecting compartment having an outlet for providing users access to dispensed dose of medicine. The dispenser includes a memory chip and means to record instances of user access to medicine in memory chip. The dispenser further includes a docking station having receptacle for accommodating one or more dispenser units. The docking station is in communication with an external communication device. The dispenser transmits instances of user access to medicine to the communication device when rested in docking station. The dispenser has multiple security features including locking mechanisms at inlet and outlet; and internal circuitry that is responsive to the 'disable' electronic originating from dispenser's internal clock and remote server in communication link with dispenser. The present invention also relates to a method of determining medication-medication interaction. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method of determining medication side effects as being causative of patient's clinical symptoms. |
