<p>PURPOSE: A method of improving discontinuous reception functionality and a communication device thereof are provided to supply a start mechanism of an on-duration timer having a DRX(Discontinuous Reception) function in order to activate an on-duration timer for monitoring a PDCCH(Physical Downlink Control Channel). CONSTITUTION: A user device enters a DRX cycle(402), and generates a first result by performing the first formula of a system prime number, a subprime number and a DRX cycle parameter(404). The user device creates a second result by performing the second formula of a DRX start offset parameter and the DRX cycle parameter(406). If the first result is equal to the second result, the user device activates the on-duration timer to monitor the PDCCH(408).</p> |
