<p>Provided is a shelf label managing system that is convenient for users. Each of a plurality of electronic shelf label terminals detects power-up and determines, based on the power-up detection, whether a system ID, which indicates a shelf label managing system in which the electronic shelf label terminal enters, is recorded in a storage unit. If the system ID is not recorded in the storage unit, the electronic shelf label terminal transmits, to a shelf label managing apparatus, a system entry request in which the terminal ID of the electronic shelf label terminal is stored. The shelf label managing apparatus receives the system entry requests from each of the plurality of electronic shelf label terminals during a period from the starting time of a registration request accepting interval to the ending time thereof, and then registers, with a shelf label management table in a database, the terminal IDs of the electronic shelf label terminals, which have made the system entry requests, as electronic shelf label terminal IDs that can be registered in the shelf label managing apparatus. The shelf label managing apparatus then transmits, in response to receipt of each of the system entry requests, a notification of system entry completion to each of the electronic shelf label terminals having transmitted the system entry requests.</p> |
