[Also in Division G1] In a washing machine liquid is supplied through a valve 15, controlled by a pressure sensitive electric switch 18, to a chamber 16 and through an opening 17 into the washing machine container 10. The liquid also passes from the chamber 16 through a pipe 31 into the washing machine container drain conduit 11, connected to the suction side of a pump 12, and through an orifice 30 in the pipe 31 into a chamber 27. When the liquid level in the container 10 reaches the level 19 liquid in the chamber 27 flows over the top edge of a partition into a chamber 20 to cover the lower edges of partition 21, 22, enclosing a space connected to a small bore pipe 33 leading to the pressure sensitive electric switch 18, to increase the pressure in the pipe 33 to actuate the switch 18 and close the valve 15. The chamber 20 so connected to the suction side of the pump 12 or the conduit 11 through a pipe 37.</p> |
