HYGIENIC COLANDERS AND THE LIKE

The invention refers to colanders and similar items used widely to separate the solid from the liquid ingredients of a mixture (usually foodstuffs but also any other mixture). The hygienic colanders and the like, according to present invention, comprise two different utensils. The first utensil is a perforated bowl (1) in which we strain the materials. The second utensil is a separate open base (2) on which the perforated bowl (1) sits. The base (2) and the bowl (1) have appropriate design which facilitates their cleaning. Further, the perforated bowl may also sits on a common utensil of appropriate shape and size (e.g. a stewpot or a bowl or a cup). The advantage of the invention is that it gives a colander or a similar item, with high standards of hygiene, simple construction and multiple use.
