ELASTIC WAVE ELEMENT AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE USING THE SAME

Provided is an elastic wave element (6) including an IDT electrode (8), a first dielectric layer (9), and a second dielectric layer (10).  The elastic wave element (6) has a boundary wave element structure in which the second dielectric layer (10) has a film thickness greater than or equal to a pitch width "p" of the IDT electrode (8) multiplied by 1.6 and the first dielectric layer (9) has a convex portion (11) on the upper surface of the first dielectric layer (9) above the IDT electrode (8).  The convex portion (11) increases an electromechanical coupling coefficient of the SH wave as a main wave.  This realizes a preferable filter characteristic.
