The device i.e. reach-in freezer (1), has a refrigerated enclosure (2) with a door (9) for closing an opening (8). Support surfaces (13) are arranged in the enclosure so that flat supports (20) e.g. grids, are inserted in the enclosure through the opening and arranged on the support surfaces. A part of the support surfaces is located over a post (10) so that the flat supports are inserted in the enclosure of each side of the post and arranged side by side in the enclosure. The post is vertically extended.
