A hinge assembly generally includes a housing configured to be coupled to a portable communications terminal, a shaft coupled to the housing for rotation relative to the housing, and a slider positioned at least partially within the housing. The hinge assembly is suitable for coupling a support member to the portable communications terminal to allow the support member to be rotatably positioned rearwardly of the portable communications terminal to support the portable communications terminal at an inclination angle on a support surface. The shaft is coupled to the support member for conjoint rotation, and the slider is moveable relative to the shaft to selectively resist rotation of the shaft and support member relative to the housing. This can help retain the support member in its rearward position to support the portable communications terminal at the inclination angle on the support surface. |
