<p>A high-pressure pump bearing member of an internal combustion engine comprising a seat (5), which is intended to cooperate with corresponding complementary parts and includes a cavity (50), which - when observed downwards - extends in a direction perpendicular with respect to the plane of the wall (20) of the bearing member (1), wherein a positioning rib (54) is formed within said cavity (50) of the seat (5) adjacent to a bore (53) between two walls (51, 52), which is intended to form a rest for a positioning bush during the assembling. Besides, in addition to a reinforcing rib (25), which extends essentially along the circumference of the wall (20), two additional reinforcing ribs (26, 27) are foreseen, which extend essentially perpendicularly with respect to each other, so that the first rib (26) extends approximately in a vertical direction and tangentially with respect to the central bore (200) in the wall (20), and the second rib (27) extends approximately in a horizontal direction and is located below the bore (200) and apart from it. On the contrary to mechanically machined bottom surfaces (32, 42) of both attaching eyes (3, 4), the top surfaces (31, 41) thereof are not machined at all. Such bearing member (1) is therefore manufactured by means of simple casting equipment i.e. molds and by classic die-casting of aluminium or appropriate alloy on the basis of aluminium, by which the static strength of the casting corresponds to the those of known castings, while the dynamic strength is essentially improved.</p> |
