DEVICE FOR PLACING SLIDES INTO TRAYS

A device for placing glass slides with histological sections disposed thereon into trays comprises a tray container which is provided with a drive for reciprocatingly moving said container in a vertical direction, a horizontal pusher for moving the trays into a working area situated outside the container and a gripper for handling glass slides provided with automatically readable codes. The tray container is in the form of a box-like frame, the lateral walls of which are provided with guides for holding the trays, the distance between the guides being 0.5-5 mm greater than the height of a tray. Below the working area are guides for supporting the trays during the movement thereof in the working area and a table for storing the filled plates, which is mounted so that it can be raised up to the working area and lowered after filling.
