PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine generator having improved cooling effect through cooling air while disposing each unit compactly in a casing. SOLUTION: The engine generator includes an engine 2, a generator 3, an inverter 4, a controller, a fuel tank 7, an air cleaner 16, a muffler 18, a radiator 6, and a casing 5 for installing the above units inside. Side parts of the casing 5 are provided with cooling air inlets 12, 11 and a cooling air outlet 14, between which a cooling air passage is formed. The generator 3, inverter 4 and air cleaner 16 are disposed upstream of the engine 2 in the cooling air passage. The fuel tank 7, radiator 6 and muffler 18 are disposed downstream of the engine 2 in the cooling air passage. The engine generator is constituted to take external air inside the casing 5 through the cooling air inlets 12, 11 as cooling air, pass from upstream to downstream in the cooling air passage, and to discharge to the outside of the casing 5 through the cooling air outlet 14.
