PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a closed gap of a piston ring, measure a gas relief groove depth, and measure a gap between the piston ring and a piston ring groove by a single tool or jig. SOLUTION: A rule 11 for measuring an abutment size of the piston ring 4 is pivoted to one of ends of a main scale 10 in a T-shape. A vernier scale 12 slidable in a lengthwise direction of the main scale is fitted over the outside of the main scale 10. A measuring rod 13 for measuring the gap 35 between the piston ring groove 34 and the piston ring 4 and a depth of the gas relief groove 9 of the piston ring 4 is provided on a side of the vernier scale opposite to the rule.
