<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photodetection device for detecting light entering from a specific range at a slight space in a case. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The case 5 mountable to a front windshield 2 in a vehicle has an incidence hole 10 for allowing external light of the vehicle to enter through the front windshield 2. A light receiving element 6 is provided at a position farther from the front windshield 2 than the distance between the front windshield 2 and the incidence hole 10 in the case 5. A reflection section 7 reflects light 19 entering from a direction in a specific angle range in external light entering from the incidence hole 10 toward the light receiving element 6. Thus, even if other photosensors are built into the case 5 and there is only a slight space in the case 5, perpendicular light can be detected by utilizing the space effectively.
