<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stack separating device capable of positively separating sheets without damaging the sheets in a simple structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This stack separating device 1 includes an adsorbing means 4 for adsorbing a top-most thin plate material P1 by an adsorbing tool 4a, and a first injection means 6 and a second injection means 7 for injecting air from the upper side of a stack 2 toward the stack 2. After preliminarily separating the top-most thin plate material P1 by air injection from the first injection means 6, the top-most thin plate material P1 is separated from the stack 2 by air injection from the first injection means 6 and the second injection means 7 while absorbing the top-most thin plate material P1 preliminarily separated by the adsorbing means 4.
