<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner with small pressure loss of air suction, capable of suppressing decrease of the volume of air suction, collecting dust with relatively lighter weight and being safely used. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes a suction opening for sucking dust together with the suction air, a motor-driven blower 8 for generating the suction air, a suction passage communicating with the blower 8 from the suction opening, an exhaust passage 9 from the blower 8 to the outside and a first and a second dust collecting means 53 and 7 provided midway through the suction passage along the air flow and for collecting dust. The second dust collecting means 7 is housed inside the first dust collecting means 53.
