PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display that suppresses degradation in the display quality caused by a spacer between layered liquid crystal display elements. SOLUTION: A first liquid crystal display panel 101 includes a first liquid crystal display element 201 and a pair of polarizing layers 211, 212 interposing the element. A second liquid crystal display panel 102 includes a second liquid crystal display element 202 and a pair of polarizing layers 213, 214 interposing the element. A spacer 271 is disposed in between the polarizing layer 212 constituting the first liquid crystal display panel 101, and the polarizing layer 213 constituting the second liquid crystal display panel 102. The first liquid crystal display panel 101 and the second liquid crystal display panel 102 are laminated so as to oppose each other, separated at a predetermined gap via the spacer 271.
