PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair-dyeing agent composition comprising a direct dye that enhances preservation stability while maintaining high hair-dyeing power. SOLUTION: The hair-dyeing agent composition comprises (A) water, (B) an aromatic alcohol, (C) a polyglycerine alkyl ether and (D) a direct dye. Preferably, the mass ratio of the content of the aromatic alcohol (B) to the content of the polyglycerine alkyl ether (C) is 1-25 while the mass ratio of the content of water (A) to the total of the content of the aromatic alcohol (B) and the content of the polyglycerine alkyl ether (C) is 3-12 in the hair dye agent composition.
