<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily detecting a small amount of cells contained in biological samples, such as cancer cells, from a sufficient amount of the biological samples without extracting/collecting cells. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for detecting cells in biological samples includes the steps of: (a) adding buffers in biological samples to prepare suspended particles; (b) labeling cells in the suspended particles prepared with a labeled substance in the step (a); (c) solidifying the suspended particles after the step (b); and (d) detecting the cells labeled by detecting labeled particles in the solidified, suspended particles obtained in the step (c) with an image analysis method.
