PURPOSE: An apparatus for informing emergency state and method thereof are provided to allow a user to manage the emergency situation efficiently by installing a communication device in a switch and a outlet. CONSTITUTION: A sensor unit(220) senses the movement of a user within a space in which a certain apparatus is installed. A controller(230) decides whether the user is in the emergency state based on the detected movement. A PLC modem(240) informs a management terminal of a result through a power line.
