PURPOSE: A marker recognition apparatus and a method thereof for using a critical value for recognizing the marker are provided to dynamically control the critical value for improving the marker correct recognition rate. CONSTITUTION: A video color deflection produces the central values of a second group and a first group. The video color deflection updates the critical value to the mean value of the central values. The video color deflection updates the difference of the updated critical value and the critical value. The video color deflection binalizes the image of the photographed image according to the updated critical value. A marker detecting unit(411) detects the marker with the video color deflection.
