PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power tool including a clutch of an improved design to cut off a rotary driving force when a blocking is detected. SOLUTION: In a hand-held electrically powered tool, an overload clutch is provided in a spindle rotary drive train so as to transmit a turning force to a spindle at certain predetermined or lower torque and to slip at certain predetermined or higher torque. When the blocking occurs, the overload clutch cuts off the turning force to the spindle by reducing the predetermined torque with which the clutch slips so as to cut off the rotary driving force to the spindle in response to the blocking. A mode changing mechanism for selectively engaging/disengaging the clutch to cut off the turning force to the spindle is provided, and the clutch is engaged/disengaged to cut off the turning force to the spindle in response to the blocking when it occurs.
