<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas estimation device of an internal combustion engine that favorably ensures estimation accuracy of exhaust gas information in light of deterioration of a catalyst while avoiding the increase of calculation loads. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas estimation device includes a catalyst model 60 that inputs information of gas including a catalyst flowing into a catalyst 40 provided in an exhaust passage 22 of an internal combustion 10 and outputs information of gas excluding a catalyst. The exhaust gas estimation device calculates a catalyst bed temperature Tw(i) and a purification quantity X(i) by using the catalyst model 60 at every part of the catalyst 40 that is virtually divided into a plurality of parts. When the calculated catalyst bed temperature Tw(i) is higher than a predetermined threshold value, the calculation of the purification quantity X(i) at the divided part is skipped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
