PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive paste for an external electrode that can obtain an external electrode which has a low bending elastic modulus and is excellent in stress relaxation. SOLUTION: The conductive paste for an external electrode is configured as follows. The conductive paste for an external electrode contains (A) metal particles whose melting point is≥700°C, (B) metal particles whose melting point is≥200°C and <700°C, (C) a thermosetting resin, and (D) rubber particles selected from the group consisting of silicone-rubber particles and fluororubber particles. The total of the (C) component and the (D) component is 7-25 pts.wt. with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the total of the (A) component and the (B) component while the ratio by weight between the (C) component and the (D) component is 94:6-50:50.
