<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to make switching operation performed without fail, whichever the position of operating cover he might depress, and make him realize the fact that he has performed the switching operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The switching operation device 3 is so structured that concave parts 6A, 6B that take notched groove shapes, each being extended in the thickness direction of a membrane switch 4 with an end of one face 4a side each as walls 6Aa, 6Bb are formed at sites corresponding to the membrane switch 4 at an equal interval from the center part 4p; convex parts 6C, 6D are formed on an operating cover 5 at sites corresponding to the respective concave parts 6A, 6B that movably fit loosely into the corresponding concave parts in the inside; and with the operating cover 5 in a mounted state and moreover, in a non-operating state, the convex parts 6C, 6D are separated from the walls 6Aa, 6Bb of the concave parts 6A, 6B.
