PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a model animal suitable for developing AMD (aging-related macular degeneration), and to provide a method for preparing the model animal. SOLUTION: The model animal for the AMD is obtained by introducing a DNA fragment and/or expression vector containing a gene encoding an HTRA1 (human high-temperature requirement factor A1) polypeptide or a derivative of the HTRA1. Furthermore, the HTRA1 polypeptide has a derivative containing a hemagglutinin epitope tag (HA tag). In addition, the HTRA1 polypeptide has a derivative containing a biotin tag, histidine tag, the HA tag or myc tag. The DNA fragment has a β-actin promoter and poly-A end. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
