<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, and a program, capable of preventing occurrence of banding, and capable of improving gradation performance relating to a graphics image. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus 100 has processing systems 110, 120 for applying processes to original images, an image producing unit 140 for producing the graphics image, an image mixing unit 150 for mixing the original images processed by the processing systems and the graphics image, a gradation converting unit 160 having a gradation converting function which is the gradation converting function for converting the number of bits and for spuriously representing a gradation before gradation conversion in an image after being subjected to the gradation conversion while the gradation converting function can be changed, and for applying a conversion process to a mixed image, and a control unit 170 for performing on and off of the gradation converting unit and changing control of the gradation converting function in response to at least graphics image information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
