<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an aligning tool which can easily lock an aligning mechanism as the need arises. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The aligning tool includes a guide member that holds a tool, and the aligning mechanism disposed coaxially with the guide member and movably supporting the guide member by a plurality of spherical bodies in the direction perpendicular to the axis. The aligning mechanism is provided with a pressing member movable forward and backward in the axial direction with respect to the plurality of the spherical bodies and an actuation chamber pressure-contacting the pressing member to the plurality of the spherical bodies by pressurizing or depressurizing. The aligning tool can lock the aligning mechanism by pressurizing or depressurizing the actuation chamber and can release the lock of the aligning mechanism by releasing the actuation chamber to the atmospheric air.
