<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an olefin oligomer, selectively producing the olefin oligomer having a desired degree of polymerization. <P>SOLUTION: The ethylene oligomer having the desired degree of polymerization and having a high production rate of branched ethylene trimer is produced by polymerizing olefin (e.g. ethylene) in the presence of a ruthenium/alcohol-based catalyst consisting of the 0-valent complex of ruthenium with an alcohol, or a catalyst prepared by adding further an amine compound to the ruthenium/alcohol-based catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
