PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor which allows positioning of a yoke with high precision. SOLUTION: In the linear motor 7, a first magnet group 14 is secured to an inner surface 12a of a yoke 10, and an outside surface 12b has a first side yoke 12 facing a yoke housing part 8. The outside surface 12b of the first side yoke 12 is provided with an interval adjusting part 30 for adjusting the interval between the outside surface 12b and a bottom surface 8a of the yoke housing part 8. Relating to the linear motor 7, an interval between the yoke 10 and the yoke housing part 8 can be adjusted by the interval adjusting part 30 after the yoke 10 is attached to the yoke housing part 8. Since the yoke 10 can be positioned without being affected by the flatness of the outside surface 12b of the first side yoke 12 and the flatness of the bottom surface 8a of the yoke housing part 8, the precision of positioning the yoke 10 is improved.
