<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mount oscillator allowing a metal cover to exhibit a shielding effect, while holding the strength of a frame wall of a container body, even when the frame wall is thinned due to miniaturization. <P>SOLUTION: In the crystal oscillator for surface mounting: a crystal chip 3 and an IC chip 2, forming an oscillation circuit by electrically connecting with the crystal chip 3 are stored in the container body 1 of a recessed shape constituted of a bottom 1a, an intermediate frame wall 1b and an upper frame wall 1c; a first main surface of the IC chip 2 is set to ground potential; IC terminals 7 are formed on a second main surface which is a circuit function surface opposed to the first main surface; the IC terminals 7 are connected electrically and mechanically and fixed to the inner bottom of the container body 1; a metal cover 5 is bonded to an opening end face of the container body 1, to seal the crystal chip 3 and the IC chip 2; and mounting terminals 9, to which respective IC terminals 7 are electrically connected are formed on the outer bottom of the container body 1, wherein the first main surface of the IC chip 2 is electrically connected to the metal cover 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
