PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinder system and a grinding method, capable of shortening the time required for measuring the end surface position of a workpiece carried by a machining spindle stock 21 or determining the phase of the workpiece to improve working efficiency. SOLUTION: The grinder system includes: a machining part having the machining spindle stock 21, a wheel spindle stock 36 and a first driving means; a preset station 50 for measuring the end surface position of the workpiece or determining the phase of the workpiece; a conveyance part for carrying the workpiece from the preset station 50 to the machining part; and a control means for controlling the grinding concurrently with the measurement of the end surface position of the workpiece or the determination of the phase of the workpiece.
