PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect abrasion of a gear more accurately by utilizing a control system of a motor. SOLUTION: In this abrasion detection device of a gear, when a motor connected directly to either gear of a pair of mutually-mating gears is driven rotatively as much as a command angle by a control means, an actual rotation angle of the motor is detected by a rotation sensor, and the command angle is compared with the detected angle, and if the command angle is larger than the detected angle and the detected angle is smaller than a threshold angle determined beforehand, it is determined that the gear is not abraded, and if the command angle is larger than the detected angle and the detected angle is larger than the threshold angle determined beforehand, it is determined that the gear is abraded.
