PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the releasing device of a glass molded body where a glass molded body is more securely released from a molding die, thus production efficiency is made satisfactory. SOLUTION: In the releasing device of a glass molded body where the glass molded body obtained by subjecting a glass raw material to press-molding by a molding die is released from the molding die, the device comprises: a releasing means for taking out the glass molded body from the opened molding die; a releasing control means which performs control in such a manner that the releasing means carries out the first releasing operation of taking out the glass molded body from the molding die and the second releasing operation having a releasing effect higher than that of the first releasing operation; and a first detection means which detects whether the glass molded body is left in the molding die or not, after the releasing means has carried out the first releasing operation. In the case where the first detection means detects that the glass molded body is left in the molding die, the releasing control means performs control in such a manner that the releasing means carries out the second releasing operation.
