PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulling-down apparatus manufacturing a high quality fibrous single crystal having excellent profile. SOLUTION: In a crucible 11 holding the raw material molten liquid 9 of a single crystal, a collar-like flange part 11c formed by extending the end surface outer diameter in a plane vertical to the axis of a cylinder part 11b is arranged on the opening end surface of the cylinder part 11b. By the presence of the flange part 11c which is a behavior suppressing member, the quantity of the raw material molten liquid climbing up on the cylinder part 11b is suppressed and thereby, the raw material molten liquid affecting the outside surface of the crystal and unstably present in the vicinity of the opening end is decreased and as the result, the fibrous single crystal 9a having excellent outside surface state is obtained.
