<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate precisely performance of a porous aggregate by observing directly and nondestructively from the surface up to an internal structure of the porous aggregate formed by aggregating a plurality of components such as fibers or particles. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this evaluation method of the porous aggregate, a liquid whose refractive index difference from a refractive index of components is below 1 is impregnated into the porous aggregate formed by aggregating the plurality of components, and then observed by a microscope, to thereby confirm existence of a component larger than 0.4 μm. Each size of the components is confirmed by the measuring method, by observing directly and nondestructively up to the internal structure of the porous aggregate formed by aggregating the plurality of components, and the result is reflected to process management or product management when manufacturing the porous aggregate and various materials using the porous aggregate, to thereby enable stable manufacture of a product having a desired quality.
