PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for positioning targets with adaptable resolution. SOLUTION: In this method, sensing space is divided into a hot area and a general area to arrange a high-resolution position signal (US) transceiver which has detection range for covering the hot area and a low-resolution position signal (RF) transceiver which has detection range for covering the space there. When the target moves in space, detection results from both of these high-resolution position signal and low-resolution position signal transceivers are blended to determine the target position with adaptable resolution. This invented system enables determination of any target position for each different area with variant positioning resolution (accuracy or granularity).
