PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synthesize an image focused at a desired position to be focused from one captured image. SOLUTION: An image synthesizing apparatus includes: a photographing optical system 3; a micro lens array 4a which includes a plurality of micro lenses arrayed in a two-dimensional manner and is disposed at the back of the photographing optical system 3; a photoelectric conversion device 4b which is disposed at the back of the micro lens array 4a and in which a plurality of photoelectric conversion area is assigned to each of the plurality of micro lenses; subject specifying means 5a, 5b, 5c for specifying an object to be focused; and an image creating means 5d for synthesizing an image focusing the object specified by the subject specifying means 5a, 5b, 5c on the basis of output of the photoelectric conversion device.
