<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal amplification device that adjusts frequency characteristics of a read signal, and to provide a storage device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The signal amplification device that amplifies a read signal read from a storage medium by a head comprises an amplification part for amplifying the read signal inputted from the head to obtain an amplified signal and varying the input impedance of the read signal based on a control signal, a detection part for detecting frequency characteristics of the amplified signal outputted from the amplification part and designating the frequency characteristics as first frequency characteristics, and an impedance control part for generating a control signal such that the first frequency characteristics detected by the detection part become predetermined second frequency characteristics.
