PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that reduces burr and fluttering of a cleaning blade during cleaning and prevents toner slipping even when a spherical toner is used, and achieves higher durability and image stabilization by facilitating application of a lubricant to a surface of an electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photosensitive layer comprising at least a charge generating layer 25 and a charge transport layer 26, and a surface layer 28 formed by curing a coating liquid on a conductive support 21; and a means to supply a lubricant to a surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor. The surface layer 28 has a plurality of crater-like recesses on its surface, and particles of a reactive silicone oil modified with a methacryloyloxy group are dispersed in the layer 28.
