A drag scraper having a reciprocating rope drive 4 has the rope attached only to the open end 8<SP>1</SP> of the bucket 8 so that on reversal of the drive at the top of the pile the bucket turns over, ensuring complete discharge of its contents. A similar turning over occurs when the drive is reversed at the bottom of the pile. The omission of a second rope eliminates its drag during the working stroke of the bucket. Skids 11 may be provided on the open side face 8<SP>11</SP> to facilitate sliding during the return of the bucket. |
