PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drug sustained-release agent comprising a carbonaceous material having inverse opal structure (a kind of porous carbonaceous materials).

SOLUTION: The drug sustained-release agent has spherical pores which are three-dimensionally arranged and have each an average diameter of 1×10-9to 1×10-5m, and includes a porous carbonaceous material with a surface area of 3×102m2/g or greater; alternatively, macroscopically, the agent includes a porous carbonaceous material where pores are arranged correspondingly to crystal structure; alternatively, macroscopically, the agent includes a porous carbonaceous material with the surface arranged with pores correspondingly to the (111)-plane alignment in the face-centered cubic structure.
