<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source unit capable of improving heat dissipation of heat generated in the light source, and to provide a lighting device with the same. <P>SOLUTION: A cover 1 is transparent with a circular shape in plan view and its surface shape is curved so that the central part may be higher than the periphery. An LED base 4 is made of a metal with good thermal conductivity such as, for example, aluminum, and on the surface on which the LED 3 is mounted, a required conductive pattern and an insulating film are formed. For example, a silicone resin 2 is filled in a space inside the LED base 4 on which the LED 3 is mounted and the cover 1, and the surface of the LED 3 are sealed by the transparent silicone resin 2. A cylindrical heat sink 5 is installed on one end of the LED base 4.
