<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system which can smoothly determine a printing job to be carried out even if a plurality of users stand by in the front of an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An integrated circuit (IC) tag reader 370 in the top face side of a printer 10 in a printing system accesses to IC tags 51, 52 existing around the printer 10 by wireless communication. Thereby, user IDs of the standby users are obtained and the user positioning around the IC tag reader 370 are specified. Then, standby time is measured for each of the user ID. Namely, in the printing system, the standby time is controlled for each user.
